Whether you're a passionate traveler or simply looking to expand your geographical knowledge, these countries that start with the letter R offer a wealth of experiences and discoveries. They represent a mix of cultures, climates, and landscapes that highlight the diversity of our world. Consider adding one of these fascinating destinations to your next travel plans and immerse yourself in all they have to offer.

Compare the different layouts in the R collection

Romania uses vertical blue, yellow and red bands, while Russia uses horizontal white, blue and red bands. The change in orientation is a useful first clue. Rwanda adds a sun to its blue, yellow and green design, and the Republic of the Congo uses a diagonal yellow band between green and red areas.

Notice that the Republic of the Congo is a different entry from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Searching only for “Congo” can bring up both names. Their flag images make the distinction clearer than a shortened country label.

To identify an unfamiliar flag from this group, note the direction of the bands, their colour order and whether a sun or another symbol is present. Open the individual country page when a small preview does not show the detail you need.
