Compare an organisation's flag with its emblem
A flag, a logo and a printed emblem are related visual forms, but they are not necessarily interchangeable. Start with the complete rectangular flag image when comparing the collection. A cropped emblem can omit a background colour or other parts of the flag's composition.
For example, the United Nations, European Union and NATO have separate articles and image collections. Use the organisation's full name as well as its abbreviation when checking that you have opened the intended entry.
Membership and institutional arrangements can change independently of a flag design. For a current membership list or a consequential use of an emblem, check the organisation's own information. The availability of a downloadable illustration on this site does not itself establish permission to use a protected emblem or imply endorsement. Consult any file-specific information and the download terms before reuse.
